Who needs Cargo Training?

It doesn’t matter if you’re the cleaner or the Directed Party of a Cargo Regulated Agent, if you have unescorted access to a restricted area, you need formal regulatory mandated Cargo training. Our Cargo course ensures that all personnel with access to, or responsibility for driving, handling, screening or even managing secure air cargo have the necessary knowledge and skills required to undertake their role in a regulatory compliant and effective manner.

Cargo Aviation Security Principles (CASP) (Previously Level A)

The Cargo Aviation Security Principles course is mandatory if you need unescorted access to a secure area, or are solely involved with secure areas but do not handle or have direct involvement with secure air cargo.

  • The threat to aviation
  • Aviation security – organisation and legislation
  • Protecting air cargo – warehouse
  • Reacting to, and reporting of suspicious circumstances and security incidents

This can be taught either online or by an instructor.

Cargo Aviation Security Principles-Drivers (CASP-D) (Previously Level B)

The Cargo Aviation Security Principles-Drivers (CASP-D) course is mandatory for those who are required to transport secure air cargo.

Students will study:

  • Cargo Aviation Security Principles CASP
  • Protecting Air Cargo – Drivers

This can be taught either online or by an instructor.

Cargo Aircraft Protection (CAP) (Previously Level C)

This Cargo Aircraft Protection course is mandatory if you are involved in implementing aircraft protection and aircraft security searches.

  • Cargo Aviation Security Principles – CASP
  • Protecting air cargo – aircraft*
  • Security controls for air cargo
  • Warehouse acceptance and dispatch of air cargo
  • Prohibited articles
  • Methods of concealment

*Please note, the protecting air cargo – aircraft module can be delivered as an additional module within the cargo operative course

This course can be taught online but also requires practical instruction for the aircraft search element.

Cargo Operative (CO) (Previous Level D)

The mandated Cargo Operative course is perfect if your role comprises implementing security controls for air cargo or mail, other than screening.

Students will acquire knowledge about:

  • The threat to aviation
  • Aviation security – organisation and legislation
  • Protecting air cargo – warehouse*
  • Reacting to, and reporting of suspicious circumstances and security incidents
  • Security controls for air cargo
  • Warehouse acceptance and dispatch of air cargo
  • Prohibited articles
  • Methods of concealment
  • Protecting of air cargo – drivers*
  • Protecting air cargo – aircraft*

*Dependent on required duties

This can be taught either online or by an instructor.

Cargo Operative Screening (COS) (Previous Level E)

This Cargo Operative Screening course is mandated for those involved in the screening of air cargo or mail through the use of visual inspection, hand search and x-ray. Please note, you are also required to complete a specified period of screening OJT and pass the Cargo National X-ray Competency Test (NXCT) before becoming qualified to operate an x-ray machine.

Participants will receive training in:

  • Cargo operative – CO
  • Overview of screening techniques and selection of the most appropriate method
  • Visual inspection
  • Hand search
  • X-ray

This course can be taught on-line but also requires practical instruction for the inspection, search and x-ray elements.

Cargo Supervisor (CS) (Previous Level F)

The mandatory Cargo Supervisor course has been designed for those directly supervising persons implementing security controls. This training is required for supervisors of staff qualified up to and including cargo operative screening, or staff who have day-to-day responsibility for air cargo security procedures. Please note, supervisors are also required to pass the Cargo National X-ray Competency Test (NXCT) before they are qualified to supervise those undertaking x-ray screening duties.

Course content includes:

  • Cargo operative screening – COS
  • The security supervisor

This course can be taught either on-line or by an instructor. If the Supervisor is responsible for a searching and screening operation they also require practical instruction for the inspection, search and x-ray elements.

Cargo Manager (CM) (Previous Level G)

The mandated Cargo Manager course is ideal if you have general responsibility (at national or local level), for ensuring that a security programme and its implementation meets all legal provisions.

Participants will learn about:

  • Cargo Operative Supervisor – COS
  • The security manager
