Bomb Threat Diverts Plane to Ireland

Shannon Airport received an unscheduled arrival after a message lead to a flight being diverted. The United Airlines flight was diverted to Shannon Airport after the crew raised a possible security concern during a flight from Rome to Chicago. A message was apparently found in the plane’s toilet, stating that there was a bomb somewhere on board the plane. After landing in Ireland, all passengers and baggage were rescreened, and handwriting samples were taken in an effort to find out who wrote the message.

The plane was cleared not long after landing however the flight was cancelled until 12th June at 3pm.
