Explosive Trace Detection (ETD)

Course Overview

This course will equip participants with the confidence and competence to use and/or supervise the effective use of ETD to screen consignments, supplies, goods and personal items, etc.

Supervisors will, in addition to learning and demonstrating the practical application of ETD, learn how to maintain ETD equipment and respond to equipment warnings.

This course contains the following core modules, which are adapted to suit the operational environment:

• Screening Methodology
• Principles of ETD
• Equipment Overview
• Sampling and Escalation Procedure
• Maintenance and Supervision

 Course Format

The ETD course will be delivered using a combination of classroom instruction using presentations, discussions, exercises and practical-based training.
