This workshop is designed to familiarize participants with the requirements of an Airport Security Programme (ASP) and enable them to draft and review such programmes.

Eligibility

This workshop is suited to middle and senior management within a State’s Appropriate Authority or airport, who are responsible for the approval, quality control, drafting, updating and/or implementation of ASPs. It is also recommended that participants have attended a specialized aviation security training activity, such as the ICAO National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP) Workshop or Management Course, prior to attending this workshop.

Course Content 

The workshop covers a wide range of modules and topics, including:

  • Standards for guidance and procedures for the effective implementation of an ASP
  • Elements to be included in an ASP
  • Objectives of an ASP
  • Sources of regulation and steps in developing an ASP
  • Maintenance of the ASP
  • Inter-relationship between ASP and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

 Course / Workshop Format

The workshop will be delivered through classroom instruction using presentations, group exercises, discussions and practical exercises.

There is no formal assessment for this workshop.
