Course Details

Each of the following courses are compliant with European and national legislation, delivering the training syllabus as mandated by the DfT.

Our experienced team will ensure that your staff are accurately and effectively instructed in all the legal and obligatory aspects of Airport Supplies.

AIMS OF THE COURSE

  • To ensure all trained staff understand their role and responsibilities in relation to the security of Airport Supplies.
  • To provide staff who have access to, and/or transport Airport Supplies, with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively carry out their role.
  • To provide staff working for known suppliers who have access to Airport Supplies with the knowledge and skills needed, to provide effective security in accordance with the relevant legislation.

Our courses are designed for staff of all experience levels within aviation security. We are able to provide training at our state of the art facility at the National Security Training Centre, near Doncaster, or we can deploy a team of Instructors to support your operation on your premises, managing the influx of new staff required to meet the demands of seasonal fluctuations. Additionally, we also offer blended training solutions which consists of elearning, practical training and instructor led training, reducing the time your staff are out of the operation: saving you time and money.

Who should attend?

Anyone who has access to Airport Supplies, or are responsible for the implementation and management of Site Security measures and compliance in accordance with regulation.

We offer a few variations of the Airport Supplies course, based on job roles.

AS General Security Awareness (GSA)

This course is required if you have access to Airport Supplies, but do not conduct any searching or sealing. It is also mandatory for any external security guards providing security at your location.

You will learn about:

  • The threat to aviation
  •  Legal requirements, objectives and organisations of aviation security
  • Prohibited articles
  • Challenging unauthorised persons
  • Protection of Airport Supplies

This can be taught either online or as a classroom session.

This course is required if you transport secure Airport Supplies, but do not conduct vehicle searches.

You will learn about:

  • General security awareness
  • Transportation requirements

This can be taught either online or as a classroom session.

This course is required if you transport secure Airport Supplies and also conduct vehicle searches.

You will learn about:

  • General security awareness – drivers
  • ehicle Load Compartment Search (inc Bulk Storage/Liquids)

This can be instructor-led or through a blended solution of classroom training and elearning.

AS Screening (Hand, Visual, ETD and/or X-ray)

This course is required if you conduct Hand, Visual, ETD and/or X-ray screening of Airport Supplies.

You will learn about (depending on what methods are employed at your location):

  • Hand Search
  • Visual Search
  • ETD Screening
  • X-ray screening

This is instructor led classroom training as it involves elements of practical training

AS Goods-In Supervisor/Manager

This course is required if you supervise or manage the receipt of Airport Supplies.

You will learn about:

  • Goods In
  • Aviation security supervision
  • Supervisory skills
  • Quality control

This can be instructor-led or through a blended solution of classroom training and elearning.

AS Responsible Person Security Course

This course is required if you are responsible for the implementation and management of site security measures and compliance, in accordance with EU 2015/1998 9.1.4.1(a).

You will learn about:

  • General security awareness
  • Aviation Security Supervision
  • Supervisory Skills
  • Quality Control

This can be instructor-led or through a blended solution of classroom training and elearning.

We are also able to assist you in the following areas of the Airport Supplies environment:

  • Aviation security programme authorship
  • Monitoring of compliance to EU/UK regulations
  • Provision of threat assessment following discovery of suspect items
  • Professional Security Support
