This is a five day workshop designed to familiarise participants with the requirements of a National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP) and also enable them to draft and review such programmes. Through interactive group sessions and the sharing of ideas, the participants will be expected to draft certain portions of a “sample” NCASP as part of the workshop and will then be able to take what they have learnt and apply this knowledge within their own state/airport.
Annex 17 standards are just a few of the requirements set forth by ICAO which provides each State with the legal basis for civil aviation security programmes. Each State must then in turn establish Acts, Legislation, Regulations, or other legal instruments within their State that allows the appropriate authority the power to implement security requirements over aviation security stakeholders (airport, law enforcement, airlines, cargo agents and others).
We recommend that interested participants be at senior or middle management level within the State’s appropriate authority, who is responsible for the control, drafting, review, updating and/or implementation of NCASP.
